What you already have

If you drive trucks professionally in South Africa, these are your everyday working documents.

1Code 14 (EC) licence You already have this
Must be valid.
2PDP (Professional Driving Permit) You already have this
Must be valid. Renew at the Licensing Department if expired.
3Medical certificate You already have this
Done when you got your PDP. The employer does not ask for a new one.

What you need to arrange

4Passport
Valid passport. Recommended: 2–3 years validity.
5Police clearance (PCC) + apostille
The longest step — start with this one.
6International Driving Permit (IDP)
Issued the same day.
7Proof of experience
Employer letter confirming 1+ year of experience.
8Copies of everything
The final step before you apply.

🇿🇼 For Zimbabwean citizens

The process is similar, but the offices differ: police clearance from the ZRP CID, and the apostille from the Department of Consular Services, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Harare (not DIRCO). The apostille must be processed inside Zimbabwe — an embassy abroad cannot issue it for you.
